Racquet Sports

Last week, the students took part in the Striking Unit. They learned and practiced some key skills related to tennis, badminton, paddle ball, squash, and pickle ball. Students in kindergarten through fifth grade learned to identify the parts of the racquet, including the head, face, neck, and handle. The best way for students to remember the correct parts of the racquet is to think of it like the human body. During the week, the students rotated to different stations where they had the opportunity to use different types of racquets. They used a tennis racquet, a badminton racquet, a paddle, a lollipop paddle, and the racqualoon. Many students said they loved the racqualoon because it is lightweight and they were able to easily maneuver the racquet in order to hit the balloon. Check out some of the action in the video!
